In the new episode of Nominis podcast which we are producing in partnership with the Association of eCommerce Croatia, we spoke to Zvonimir Mozer, who recently took over the leadership of Dwizards, a long-time partner of the eCommerce Croatia association. The episode discussed how to develop a successful eCommerce and web agency, with a special focus on the challenges of developing such an agency in Croatia and the region.

Speaking of his arrival at Dwizards, Zvonimir says that this step happened quite naturally as he had collaborated with the agency as a client, and this led to the idea of a new business challenge. Discussing his experience from both sides of the spectrum, having worked on the client side and now on the agency side, Zvonimir emphasizes that mutual respect and good communication, along with expertise, are imperative for successful cooperation. He mentioned that the often-highlighted problems in communication between developers and webshop managers largely depend on the people who make up the company culture and that it is therefore important that the two cultures are complementary and inclusive.

Managing expectations is a key moment in the entire process, and the foundation of all this is good communication. If communication is transparent and everyone sticks to the rules of the game, it is a big guarantee that the project will be successfully completed and launched

Good communication cannot exist without well-meaning people, he points out, stressing the need to work on relationships with contacts and networking from the early stages of education, and that it is crucial to surround yourself with people who suit you, rather than thinking “I could benefit from this person, so I will socialize with him.” In his opinion, an organic network of contacts and business associates brings long-term profit to all parties involved.
