Nominis podcast – episode 080: Sunčani Sat
In Nominis episode 080, we explore how personal resilience and community support can drive impactful business initiatives, as Marko Fertelmeš shares his journey of founding Sunčani put. This episode highlights the power of compassionate entrepreneurship and the role of corporate responsibility in supporting humanitarian causes.
In the new episode of Nominis podcast which we are producing in partnership with the Association of eCommerce Croatia, we spoke to Marko Fertelmeš, founder of Sunčani put. Inspired by his personal journey through his son’s sarcoma diagnosis, Fertelmeš founded Sunčani put to support families affected by this rare disease. Alongside Marcel, he discussed the mission of his foundation, challenges faced by families dealing with rare illnesses, and the potential impact of businesses embracing charitable initiatives.
Marko shared that the motivation behind Sunčani put stems from his own family’s experience and the pressing need for more awareness and support for rare diseases like sarcoma. He highlighted that although the journey is incredibly challenging, the response from the community has been inspiring, and his foundation’s goal is to make the journey for other families smoother by providing critical resources, information, and emotional support. He emphasized the importance of “giving back” and how businesses can play a pivotal role in supporting humanitarian causes.
The conversation also touched on his professional journey in eCommerce. Marko discussed how, through his various business ventures, he’s seen firsthand the impact that small, mission-driven initiatives can have, especially when they’re backed by community and corporate support. One standout aspect of his entrepreneurial philosophy is his focus on sustainability – he mentioned that Sunčani put isn’t just about raising funds but also about raising awareness for responsible and ethical business practices.
In line with this philosophy, he noted that Sunčani put has partnered with CRO Commerce, where 10% of all conference ticket sales will go towards supporting the foundation’s mission. This partnership aims to connect the eCommerce world with real-world impact, showing that corporate responsibility can extend beyond traditional profit-driven goals and foster a meaningful connection with the community.
Support is not just about funds; it’s about standing with people during difficult times and showing that even in the business world, we can be there for one another. Businesses have the potential to influence society positively, and we want Sunčani put to be a bridge between commerce and compassion.
