Analizu su napravile kuće EMC, IDC te MGI (PDF u linku). Neki od zaključaka su:
– Amerika pohranjuje 3,5 Exabyte-a podataka – više nego sve ostale zemlje zajedno
– po industrijama najviše pohranjuju proizvođači računala, automobila, igračaka (966 PB), zatim vlada (848 PB) te mediji i komunikacije (715 PB)
– interesantno je što klasični kupci i potrošači (7 Exabyte-a) pohranjuju više podataka nego kompanije (6 Exabyte-a)
