In the new episode of Nominis podcast which we are producing in partnership with the Association of eCommerce Croatia, we spoke to Nikola Budiša – founder and CEO of LM Komunikacije. Together with Marcel Majsan, he describes his unexpected transition from regional sales director at Lidl to a leader in digital marketing and content production. Initially drawn into marketing by personal experience promoting his wife’s business, Nikola quickly recognized the potential for professional social media management, setting the stage for LM Komunikacije’s growth.
Nikola highlights one pivotal project – the drone-based promotion of Međimurje’s tourism – which rapidly attracted over 20,000 followers. This innovative approach allowed LM Komunikacije to establish itself as the go-to agency for professional visual content in the region, significantly boosting their market presence.
However, Nikola candidly shares how industry trends shifted drastically with the rise of platforms like TikTok, resulting in a challenging market environment where quantity overshadowed quality. Facing declining demand for premium video production, Nikola details how the company embraced another major pivot, focusing on micro-education and AI-driven content solutions to stay competitive.
This turned out quite well because, in the second half of 2024, we managed to achieve significant results and restore revenues to about 60-70 percent compared to the previous year.
Ultimately, Nikola emphasizes the critical importance of flexibility and innovation. Agencies must continuously adapt, leveraging technology and new communication channels, to effectively navigate market changes and ensure long-term sustainability.
