Udemy je sastavio interesantnu infografiku o usporedbi tri popularna programska jezika … PHP , Ruby i Python. Agregirani podaci se odnose na povijest, popularnost, lakoću korištenja te potražnjom za određenim jezikom.

  • Python je jezik “o kojem se najviše priča” (izvor: IEEE Spectrum’s analysis of IRC discussions)
  • Kod programerskih poslova, najviše se traži PHP … 21% (izvor: Craigslist & Monster.Com)
  • PHP je također generalno najpopularniji sa 6% među svim programskim jezicima  (izvor: TIOBE Index)

Iako interesantna, infografika ne obrađuje popularnost jezika kroz društvene mreže. Također, grafike “Lines of code” i “Average run time” su u realnom programerskom životu malo bitne jel isti parametri ovise o stručnosti samog programera, njegovom generalnom znanju i arhitekturi aplikacije / servera. Navedeni primjeri kao recimo “PHP je korišten kod izgradnje facebooka” jesu generalno točni, ali svaki od tih portala/platformi sadrži module koji su pisani i u drugim jezicima… no prosudite sami…
